The in Between Beauty Salon, Houston Has It!
Looking for a beauty salon that isn’t all about gossip and stuck up women!? I know I often get intimidated when looking for a new beauty salon. Houston is full of beauty salons, but some of them look so darn high class me and my jeans and t-shirt wouldn’t fit in very well! I just want my hair trimmed, for goodness sake! For the longest time I wondered if there is such a simple beauty salon. Houston offers so many different types of beauty salons that I have been able to find several where I can fit right in.
When I first moved to Houston a couple years ago I was in search of a place where I could just get my hair cut well. After looking through the yellow pages I wasn’t sure there was such a beauty salon. Houston is full of women who like to spend a lot more time on their appearance than I do! I’m a simple girl! Less is more for me! But, over the last couple years I’ve learned that Houston has a beauty salon for almost every type of woman! Be it a simple or high maintenance beauty salon, Houston has it!
I like to go to a beauty salon where the people cutting and styling hair actually know what they are doing. I don’t want to walk out of a salon with a disaster that they call “layers”. I also don’t want to feel like I am from some low class place and feel uncomfortable in a really posh beauty salon. Houston has many salons that are right in between; they have a competent staff and a low-key environment. They have begun to cater to the people who want more than six weeks experience cutting hair, but less on the gossip and class. It took me awhile to find these places, but they do exist!
Because of the large population in Houston, beauty salons are not sparse. As a matter of fact, they seem to be everywhere! There are the walk-in type places that will give you a new do for less than ten bucks right up to the places that will give you a new do for two hundred bucks. Something for everyone, you just might have to search if you don’t want either of the extremes! I found the yellow pages didn’t really help me out. All of the salons talk about themselves in the most flattering way and you don’t really know what you’re getting until you get there.
I asked a few of my neighbors, but found they were looking for different things than I was. One suggested a walk in seven-dollar place; the other suggested a high-class place. I wanted a little of both. So, I looked up beauty salons on the Internet and found several in my area. Each time I needed my haircut for six months I went to a new place, and finally found one I really liked! A couple of the salons I went to were an experience, for sure! But, I’ve found it doesn’t matter what you’re looking for in a beauty salon, Houston has it!
