How important is getting to the best sports bar? If you’re a sports junkie and you want to go out to watch a certain sporting event, choosing the right sports bar is crucial. You don’t want to go to a place that’s too loud and annoying, but you don’t want to hang out at a library either.

So what makes the best sports bar? In my opinion, it’s a place where you can go to watch a game with like-minded people looking for the same thing. It's not some place where catching the score is an afterthought. Music is fine, as long as it's in the background, and not dominating the scene.

This combination is very hard to find. That’s why it’s best not to put all of your eggs in one basket. Don’t plan your evening around one location. Make sure you have some flexibility so to increase your chances of finding the best sports bar experience.

Here is a list of the some of the best sports bar in the country…

Best Sports Bar in New York: Ship of Fools

This is considered the best sports bar in New York. It’s a great place to watch a sporting event since there are more than forty televisions throughout the bar. If you aren’t in the mood to watch TV and prefer some hands-on entertainment, they have dart boards and a high tech virtual-golf videogame (Golden Tee).

Best Sports Bar in Virginia: Crystal City Sports Pub

Want to watch a game? Plenty of TV’s surrounding the bar. You can do that thing with the balls on the green felt table and still watch the game without having the competition dominate the scene. Another interesting feature is the dance floor on the second floor. When the weather is nice, you can sit outside. The best feature has to be the fact that the bar organizes regular trips to local sporting events.

Best Sports Bar in Los Angeles? The Yard House

The Yard House offers numerous television monitors to watch sporting events. It’s most famous for its draft beer system. More than a thousand gallons of beer is housed in a keg house that utilizes an intricate network of tubing to transport the beer overhead to the bar and then poured from over one hundred different taps. The menu offers American Fusion cuisine and a wide variety of music is played through an incredible, state of the art sound system.
