Classic Vans

Classic Vans are cool after forty years!
Unbelievably, Vans have been cool for almost forty years. And still, after almost forty years the classic Vans styles are still as popular as ever. Vans are the perfect balance between simple and comfortable, and that is why people continue to buy them, even when there is new and upcoming competition just around every corner.
Two skaters who needed comfortable, yet durable shoes to protect their feet while taking some hard hits on the skateboard designed the first classic Vans. Vans soon became very popular and fans were asking for more color combinations. By 1976, classic Vans were manufactured and distributed to the masses, and they took on another color combination other than the original black and white, and introduced black and red. The classic Vans checkerboard style really took off when Jeff Spicoli wore them in Fast Times at Ridgemont High. High school kids from all over wanted a pair of slip on classic Vans.
Amazingly, after all these years Vans are still very popular. Skaters and people of all walks of life are really into the classic Vans look and also the more modern styles. Skaters tend to still be into the slip on styles, although many wear the lace up variety, as well. After forty years of making Vans in all styles, Vans are more comfortable and durable than any other skating shoe.
If you’re looking for a place to get classic Vans in your area, you shouldn’t have to look too far. Most shoe stores carry Vans, and if you’re in doubt search the websites of local shoe stores and you’ll find one that carries them without searching long. If you do not have internet access, look in the yellow pages and you’ll find may retailers list Vans right on their add.
Also, Vans are available in all styles on the internet. Some internet shoe retailers are dedicated to Vans, so if you’d rather order from home there is more than enough Vans retailers available on the internet.
Remarkably, Vans remain reasonably priced even after forty years. A new pair of Vans will run right about fifty dollars, give or take twenty dollars, and dependent upon the style you are looking at. Considering the price of most shoes these days, that isn’t a bad price at all for such a good pair of shoes!
So, if you’ve not had a pair of Vans, classic or otherwise, you should really try them on! They’re awesome, even if you don’t skate. Once you own one pair, you’ll be a fan for life! So, go on! Get your classic Vans today!
