Design Your Own
T-Shirt

Design your own t-shirt? Just what would it say?
Would it preach, teach or joke, or just fritter away,
All the time spent in making the shirt anyway?
Design your own t-shirt? What would it say?
Write your own message? What on Earth would you say?
Would it be one of hope for a bright, sunny day?
Or perhaps one of sorrow, of gloom and dismay?
Write your own message? Just what would you say?
For the front, tell me what kind of image you’d place?
On the back, would there be one, or just empty space?
Design your own t-shirt? Surely you’d grace,
The Earth with a brand new design of good taste!
If the world were now filled with good will and could find,
Only people who sported their own shirt’s design,
Would we be better off, or perhaps would we pine
For the old days when all seemed to have better times?
For now does it seem that we’ve reached a new climb,
When t-shirts abound with such new kinds of rhyme,
That the words lose their meaning, their cadence and rhyme?
Maybe you’d like to try your own hand just one time?
Design your own t-shirt? But what would it say?
Would it preach, teach or joke, or just fritter away,
All the time spent in making the shirt anyway?
Design your own t-shirt? What on Earth would it say?
