Disney World Vacation Package

Is a Disney World Vacation Package Worth the Money?

My little brother was at the perfect age, so my family decided to do something highly unusual for us. We got on the internet, contacted the right people, and ordered an all-inclusive Disney World Vacation Package. The Disney World vacation package came with ‘park hopper’ tickets for four days, accommodations, a ride to the parks…it seemed like a great idea. And, for us, for that one vacation, it was.

My family does not often embrace something like a Disney World vacation package. We usually get the tickets and then find a cheap hotel nearby to crash for the few hours we're not at the parks. However, this was a special trip because we thought there was a good chance it would be the last big family vacation we took.

The Disney World vacation package is a great deal if you are a fan of the ‘one stop’ shopping. You get everything you need, except food, for a great vacation. Disney world vacation packages seem expensive, but when you look at the cost of just the tickets, paying a little more for the hotel doesn’t seem like such a bad idea.

Disney World vacation packages include more than a hotel, after all. You get to stay at one of their luxury resorts, and the cost of your Disney World vacation package will vary depending on the resort you want to stay at while on vacation. The cheaper the resort, the cheaper the package, so keep that in mind while planning your trip.

Perhaps the most convenient part of a Disney World vacation package is that you don’t have to worry about parking your car. You park it at your resort and leave it while you take the shuttle to the parks. If you have ever sat in closing traffic at Disney World, you understand how much of a benefit this is! Not having to get irate in traffic or deal with the thousands of cars all leaving at the same time is a great treat.

The only downside to our Disney World Vacation Package was that it did not include a food allowance of any sort. Food at Disney World costs almost as much as tickets to the parks, so you can end up blowing a lot of money quickly.

If you are looking for a relaxing way to spend a week with Mickey Mouse and friends, consider the investment of a Disney World Vacation Package. Like I said, it may seem like a lot of money at first, but after you add up what you would spend on all the parts of the vacation individually (parking, admission, hotels, gas), it may not be that bad of an investment at all.

The best part of our Disney World vacation package was that it created a lot of really great memories for my family. With a little brother who was just the right age for the trip and the chance to explore the resorts and the out of the park part of Disney world, I think my entire family considered the expense of the Disney World Vacation package worth it…at least once in a lifetime.
