An increasingly popular weight loss program on the market is the herbalife weight loss system. Their goal is to help people lose weight with all natural herbal and vitamin supplements.
The first step in the herbalife weight loss system is to fill out a questionnaire. Then, the herbalife representatives will assign you one of their weight loss programs. All of their programs are similar, but have minor differences. The most popular and commonly used program is the “ShapeWorks Program”.
They claim the herbalife weight loss system will help you attain your fat loss goals in three easy steps. The three steps are…
- Take their multivitamin supplement three times a day.
- Substitute two meals with their meal replacement shakes(you can choose from a number of flavors).
- Eat a “colorful” meal that has green, leafy vegetables and fruit(they suggest a garden salad).
The herbalife weight loss system has both positives and negatives. Let’s take a look at both…
POSITIVES
Feeding your body all natural foods and supplements is a good thing. If you haven’t already, you should consider adding a multivitamin and natural herbs to your dietary routine. The herbalife weight loss system also puts an emphasis on staying balanced by eating a good combination of proteins, complex carbohydrates, and good fats.
NEGATIVES
The herbalife weight loss system is a lot like Slim Fast. Basically, you replace two meals a day with shakes, and then you eat a salad for dinner. Going on a program like this will only lead to temporary weight loss, since you shouldn’t deprive your body of solid foods for an extended period of time. I’ve tried Slim Fast and I can tell you it’s a tough program to stick with. Most of the time, having a meal replacement shake won’t fill you up and you’ll be craving sweets and fatty foods by the end of the day, not a healthy salad.
Another negative is the expense. You have to purchase their supplements and meal replacement shakes, both of which aren’t cheap. They also try to sell you other auxiliary products like appetite suppressant pills, protein bars, and energy boosters. You could easily wind up spending over one hundred dollars on all of their products for just a one month supply
In my opinion, the herbalife weight loss system isn’t bad, but it’s not a permanent solution to weight loss. If you are trying to drop a few extra pounds for a special event, then you might want to give it a try. But if you are looking for permanent weight loss, all you need to do is eat a healthy, balanced diet and begin an exercise routine.
