How to Gain Muscle Mass

Want to know how to gain muscle mass? The answer is simple, but the work is not. You should know that gaining muscle mass isn’t an easy thing to do. I tell people all the time, it’s harder to gain muscle then it is to lose weight.

The biggest misconception people have with regards to muscle, is that they think working them out every day for a long period of time is the answer. In reality, your muscles grow when you’re resting, not when you’re working. A major factor in how to gain muscle mass is to keep your workouts short and intense, while resting the muscles every other day.

Another important factor on how to gain muscle mass is making sure you up your protein intake. Your muscles need protein to repair themselves and to grow. Loading up on quality proteins will help ensure maximum muscle growth. Some good forms of protein include grilled skinless chicken breasts, whey protein powder, and egg whites. Be sure to eat plenty of protein soon after your workout. This will help get that quality protein to your muscles and allow it to be absorbed in optimal time. Also try to eat five or six small meals throughout the day rather than three large meals. This strategy will help keep a constant flow of nutrients and protein going into your body(and your muscles).

The most important factor on how to gain muscle mass is a positive mindset. You need to keep your mind focused on your goal. Turning yourself into a lean, mean muscle machine won’t happen over night. Remember, nothing great in life comes easy.

Another helpful tip on how to gain muscle mass is to workout certain muscle groups on certain days. For example, you should try to work out your biceps, triceps, and back on Monday and then work your chest, shoulders, and legs on Wednesday(you should do your cardio workout on Tuesday). Of course, always remember to do the standard three sets of ten repetitions for each muscle group. You can gradually increase this amount over time, but don’t ever try to do too much too soon.

You should also keep in mind that having a sound cardio workout is also important on how to gain muscle mass. It won’t actually help you gain muscle, but lowering your body fat will allow you to actually see your muscles. And the best way to reduce your body fat is through a solid cardio workout.

If you follow these simple guideline, you’ll be well on your way to gaining rock solid muscle mass.
