Dude, aren't I getting too old to go to an Avril Lavigne concert?
Yeah, probably, so maybe I won't go, but let me tell you why I would go to an Avril Lavigne concert... and I'm not joking.

Avril's different from the other pop stars, as far as I'm told, because she doesn't lip synch, she writes her own music, she does her own make-up, and she's grateful to be where she is.
Ya, I bet Lindsay Lohan, Christina Aguilera, and Britney Spears are grateful too, but I haven't heard any of them talk about how they know there are loads of talented musicians out there who never got to share their craft. I'm one of them, so that really hit home with me. I'd be at the Avril Lavgine concert thinking- you go girl, you got the opportunity, you write the songs, have fun, make people happy, enjoy it!
I mean, she wouldn't hear me or anything because I don't believe in telepathy, nothing like that, but I'm saying, that's my sentiment to Avril, and that's why I'd be able to enjoy the Avril Lavigne concert. Really, even though she writes her own songs, I bet the musicians she has around her come up with some of it- so it's a band...
But let me tell you what really disappointed me about a certain Avril Lavigne concert. It was the fact that, despite the mature music she's writing, despite her brilliance, people are hampered by her youth. I guess people think she's just some young mall-type fly by night chic pop music sensation... She's not just some new Alannis-ette. My guess is that she'll be around still topping charts ten years from now... and you'll see people in their 20s and 30s at the average Avril Lavigne concert.
Let me finish with what makes an Avril Lavigne concert so good- it's not just her authentic, genuine style- it's her voice- Avril is a real singer, and a real musician. You know what I mean? Some pop stars kinda incidentally sing, some kind happen to have musicians around them while they're really just selling their bodies. Avril could, but doesn't- she doesn't have to-
I'm not sure, but when I hear her sing... I get the feeling that Avril Lavigne could do an arena concert without a microphone.
