You can relax. I'm not going to ask you for any money. I'm
not here to sell you anything. Just think of me as your yoda,
your wiseman for a few minutes. I'm going to tell you what
I've done to turn my computer into a business, and my home
office into a profit center. |
Right now I'm sitting at home in casual clothes (and it doesn't
matter that I got a coffee stain), listening to whatever music
I want (Howlin Wolf), all because of the home based business opportunity
I'm going to tell you about.
Listen, it's my choice. I could work in an office - I'm a whiz
at all the Microsoft programs. I could work full time as an acupuncturist...I'm
licensed and have a Masters degree in that. There are a bunch
of careers I'm interested in and could go do, but I don't have
to do any of them. I'm free because of the same home
based business opportunity you can take advantage of.
What is this great home business opportunity? I'll tell you
right now.
It's very simple. With just your spare time, MS Excel, and a
webpage building solution, you can make good money. Right now,
I'm making about $25k per year just from my website traffic.
And there are more profit sources I'll mention in a minute.
What do I mean? Look, you found this webpage, didn't you?
So did thousands of other people. I wrote it mainly to get you
to come to it. Of course, I'm being honest here- I'm providing
you with valuable info and tips in return for your attention.
I want you to make money, too. So... you found this webpage, and
you read past those Google ads up there, didn't you? Well, from
5-10% of you will (or already did) click on one of those ads.
The advertisers paid Google, and Google pays me.
My regular friends didn't believe what good money Google was
paying me. Neither did I, at first! Then I just started hoping
the checks would never stop. For example my friend Larry at the
Assistant to the District Attorney's office, or John, the Chiropractor
with whom I share an office... Larry didn't believe me. John says
I'm his idol. See, these guys are 10-15 years older than me, and
they're living a certain life-business-model... the old paradigm.
What's the new one? I'm going to tell you right now:
The essence of this Home Based Business Opportunity? Become
an Infopreneur like me!
Infopreneur? What the heck is that? What a dumb word! Yeah, I
know. We need a better one. But it means someone who makes money
by providing information. Welcome to the information economy,
thanks to Google, the coolest search engine, and coolest internet
company ever. Amazon is a close second. And I have to say thanks
to SiteSell.com for all the ideas. That's how I got started- by
reading Make Your Site Sell!
See, you can do even more than just get traffic and Google checks.
Here's the ol' Mr. Popeil "but wait, there's more!"
you can also get this incredible combination orange-juice-squeezer/clothes-steamer
if you act now! Ok, sorry, I'm back now.
I'll tell you how to do all this later, but let me paint the
whole picture of this home based business opportunity first:
- You choose a topic that fits your passion and expertise, and
that people are searching for on the internet
- You provide info (build webpages) that searchers can find
on search engines
- You build more and more traffic
- You make
money from Google off your traffic
- You collect signups to your email newsletter and stay in touch
with your audience at least twice a week
- Did you see the cover of my book up at the top of this page?
Click here and you'll not only see it, you'll hear about my
upcoming teleseminars too! So here are two more infoproducts
you can sell to your readers. An article
I just wrote outlines what I've been up to and what's coming
down the pike in my home based internet-health-empire building
plan.
- You can move laterally into new areas and do the same thing-
me, a health guy, writing to you about internet marketing is
a perfect example of this. If I get enough interest, I'll write
a book about it.
Here, I've even created a
graphical flowchart of this home based business opportunity
for those of you who are visual learners. Start with the square.
Now, even though I'm not selling you anything, I've learned marketing
well, and it's time for the take away, the time limit to spur
you into action, to inspire you to start your own home based
business based on this model. Here it is:
I've got good news and bad news
about this home based business opportunity
The good news is that, as I predicted it would back in 1996,
the internet has leveled the playing field for those of us with
messages we want to get out. It used to be we had to get on the
few regular TV channels or in the big newspapers... and advertising
was very expensive because it wasn't targeted. For the last few
years, it's been possible to start an empire on a shoestring budget.
But the bad new is that I think the doors of this particular
home based business opportunity are closing.
You have to score high on the search engines to succeed here,
and because of the way that Google ranks pages - partly based
on the current traffic level of the site - and also because the
number of available subjects to write on and the number of available
keywords is decreasing, this opportunity won't last.
I'm serious about this- now that I see it clearly, I'm thinking
I may devote the next year solely to expanding the reach of
my site and establishing its traffic ranking. See Alexa.com
for website rankings. Look at my
site's compared to related sites. The kind of keywords/keyphrases
that have yielded me an audience and profits are no longer as
promising as they used to be. If the 10th website on the first
page of the Google results has a higher Alexa ranking than you,
it's over, and you can forget all about this home based business
opportunity.
Now I may be wrong- Google and other search engines may
build something into their equations to allow the new guy always
to be able to reach people, or rather for the searcher to reach
the best info source, even if the best source is new... but
I doubt it, because they want to provide reliable info, and
one of the only measures they have of reliability (that they can
plug into a program) is the ranking and traffic level of the website
it's on.
Obviously I haven't told you enough to do it all right now...
and I'm not going to tell you I have a foolproof formula - it
took me several years to learn it the hard way... I should start
a new site from scratch to see how long it takes to make it happen
without my current traffic level. But
if there's enough interest, I'll do a teleseminar on it.
