If you’re looking for an Italian Restaurant, Los Angeles, California is the place

If you’re looking for an Italian restaurant, Los Angeles has more than ample variety. Whether you’re looking for an upscale traditional restaurant, where star spotting is frequent, or a little family place with modern Tuscan flair in an Italian restaurant, Los Angeles is sure to offer it. Some even claim that the Italian food in Los Angeles is better than in Italy!

From wine to dessert…

From wine to dessert, you can discover great variety in an Italian restaurant Los Angeles offers. Some places are pricier, but offer top-notch service and elegance (not to mention an opportunity for spotting celebrities!). This type of restaurant is perfect if you’re vacationing or out for a romantic dinner. You can also find an Italian restaurant Los Angeles offers that is more relaxed, but still offer delicious food and great service – great for families and groups.

More than just Spaghetti… the Italian restaurant, Los Angeles and the low-carb craze

The first thing that often comes to mind when thinking about Italian food is the delicious pasta dishes, calzones, bruschetta, pizza, and other scrumptious, but albeit high-carb, traditional foods.

Fortunately, for those that are limiting carb intake, many options are offered in mouth-watering meals not based on pasta in an Italian restaurant. Los Angeles restaurants have many dishes based on traditional or contemporary Italian meat and seafood recipes to satisfy your tastes.

A deliciously seasoned roasted rack of lamb, juicy and flavorful grilled jumbo shrimp, tender veal parmesan, moist grilled salmon, clams or mussels enhanced by flavorful tomato and garlic sauces, juicy steaks… all these and more can be found on the menus of many an Italian restaurant, Los Angeles.

If you just can’t wait to taste the Tiramisu…

If you just can’t wait to get to an Italian restaurant Los Angeles boasts to taste a scrumptious Italian dessert, Tiramisu is a delicious way to satisfy your cravings. It is simple to make, and the recipe here is a ‘light’ version that is equally delicious as the traditional dessert. The following recipe is from allrecipes.com:

Ingredients:

1 ½ cups hot water
3 ½ teaspoons instant decaffeinated coffee powder
½ cup mascarpone cheese
1 eight-ounce package fat-free cream cheese
2 tablespoons dark brown sugar
1 cup Splenda® granular
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
1 sugar free angel food cake (available at most grocery bakeries)
2 teaspoons cocoa powder

Directions:
1. Dissolve instant coffee in hot water and chill in refrigerator. Cut angel food into 1-inch cubes and set aside.
2. Combine mascarpone and cream cheese and blend until smooth. Add coffee, brown sugar, Splenda®, and vanilla. Mix well.
3. Pour cold coffee into a 9x13 pan, then quickly dip half of angel cake pieces in coffee and place in medium glass serving bowl. Spread half of cheese mixture on top. Sprinkle with 1 tablespoon cocoa powder. Repeat with remaining ingredients and chill at least 3 hours before serving.

Before you make your Tiramisu, you might want to check ahead and make sure you don’t need reservations for your Italian restaurant escape. Sometimes even in a more relaxed Italian restaurant, Los Angeles is so populated you may still need them, especially if the restaurant is a popular one!

This is easy to do online, and a great bonus is that you can often find fab Italian restaurant reviews for specific restaurants.

Buon gusto!
