Don’t pay too much to fly when you can buy a cheap airplane ticket
There’s no reason to pay exorbitant prices for airplane tickets these days. There are many ways in which you can cut costs and buy a cheap airplane ticket to fly wherever you want.
Since low cost airlines have become players in the airline industry, getting a cheap airplane ticket has become easier than ever before. No longer is there a monopoly by three or four of the huge carriers. Since the smaller airlines like Air Tran, Frontier, Jet Blue, and others have come onto the scene, pricing has become very competitive and it’s much easier to get a cheap airplane ticket.
A good place to find a cheap airplane ticket is online. There are numerous flight consolidators that will search for the best tickets from several airlines. Some of these flight consolidators are Expedia, Travelocity, cheapflights, and lastminute, just to name a few. Many of the airlines have websites as well where you can check on ticket pricing.
If your schedule is flexible enough, you can fly on what is called standby. It’s a way to get a cheap airplane ticket because usually it’s when a passenger doesn’t show up or wants to change flight, etc. The airline doesn’t want to have that seat go empty, so they will call people who are interested in flying standby. They will offer them the ticket at a usually substantial discount so they can fill those unused seats.
A very different way to travel, but one in which you can get a very cheap airplane ticket is to become an Air Courier. As an air courier, you will deliver or “courier” packages and information for companies around the world who don’t want to send them via traditional means. Perhaps the documents are too important and they want someone with these documents at all times. In any event, you can get some incredible deals on cheap airplane tickets. An example would be from Los Angeles to Hong Kong for $350.
A new and different way to buy a cheap airplane ticket is to bid on them through either priceline.com or Ebay. At Priceline, you name the price that you want to pay for that ticket and bid on it. Sometimes you may get lucky and they accept it, and sometimes they don’t. At Ebay, there may or may not be the tickets that you are looking for because it’s more individuals selling their tickets. You may bid on those tickets if you see what you like, but may not get the winning bid because of competition from other bidders.
So there you go. There are a few different avenues you can explore or take to get a cheap airplane ticket. If you do a little homework, you can save a lot of money by flying cheaply which will allow you to spend your money on other goodies instead.
