Why pay full price when you can buy a cheap plane ticket?
There’s no way in this day and age that someone has to pay full price for a plane ticket. There are plenty of opportunities to buy a cheap plane ticket if you really look for one.
The old school way which the consumer is forced to contend with high prices for airline tickets has gone the way of the dinosaur. There’s no longer a monopoly by the huge conglomerate airlines of years gone by. Now there are numerous low cost, low frills carriers out there that will fit the bill in your quest for a cheap plane ticket.
Orbitz is an online travel agency who recently announced a low fare promise to all travelers who book their flights with them. How it works is, if a customer finds a published airline online that’s at least five dollars cheap plane ticket than what they paid through Orbitz, and then Orbitz will compensate the traveler with a $50 coupon per ticket, which is redeemable for future travel.
Orbitz is one player in a plethora of online cheap plane ticket providers. There are numerous flight consolidators that will search for the a cheap plane ticket for your from several airlines. That way you know you are finding the best possible deal out there. Travelocity, cheapflights, and lastminute are just a few of them. Many airlines themselves have websites as well that you can check on ticket pricing yourself.
Something new and a different way to buy a cheap plane ticket is through a site called priceline. At priceline, you can bid on what you want to pay for certain plane tickets that are up for bidding. Sometimes you may win the bids, and other times you may loose. It’s a unique way to obtain a cheap plane ticket. EBay is another source for obtaining a cheap plane ticket. These tickets are usually up for auction by individuals, and sometimes by companies who may have obtained blocks of tickets. You can bid on these tickets to try and beat out other bidders and win the auction and the tickets.

Are you flexible? Well if you are, yet another way to obtain a cheap plane ticket is to fly on what is known as standby. If a passenger doesn’t show up to his or her flight, or wants to change flights, the airline wants to keep those seats booked. The airlines will contact people that have signed up to fly standby and offer those tickets to them at substantially discounted prices. The airline doesn’t want to have empty seats. The traveler gets to fly at a reduced cost and get a cheap plane ticket out of the deal.
A cheap plane ticket is definitely obtainable in this day and age of the internet and discount airlines, leaving more money to spend on other goodies.
