Faux Fur Coats

Faux Fur Coats are IN, Beady-Eyed Mink
Stoles are Out!.
Wouldn't it be nice to have a plush fur coat
to keep you warm when the weather gets cold? Well, instead of
turning into a werewolf in order to get some fuzzy flair, it's now
possible to wear fur of every feather for tastes that range from
wild to conservative--and the secret? - Faux fur coats.
Yes, I know, faux fur used to be the
provenance of cheesy Halloween costumes in decades gone by when
having the real thing was de rigueur. After all, at that time,
faux fur coats looked and felt, well, kind of tacky!
I
have to admit it's a godsend both to us & to the poor mink that
the beady-eyed taxidermy headed look of our grandmothers' era mink
stole is OUT. Now, much to everyone's relief, faux fur is IN! In
fact, you can find faux fur coats made from amazingly realistic
mouton curly lamb and stunning imitation silver fox, just to name
the tip of the faux fur iceberg! One can barely tell that they
aren't the "real thing"! Faux fur has really made a roaring
comeback. And, even though authentic fur accessories are becoming
popular again, why pay the price for the barely discernable
difference?
Faux fur is exciting, durable, flashy and
easy to take care of. You can have four faux fur coats or jackets
for the price of one real fur coat. And then, everyone is happy,
the PC police and you!
Some
places are more faux fur-friendly than others. The ultimate foxy &
flirty faux fur coat and more Mecca has to be the Burning Man
event in Nevada's Black Rock Desert. People snap up faux fur at
specialty fabric stores for the wild and wooly days at this
one-of-a-kind event. If you are lucky enough to be able to make
it through the endurance test of being out on the Playa, you will
find that faux fur is outrageously fun!
Especially popular at the "Burn" is the faux fur coat in crazy day
glo colors with exotic textures - these are faux furs that no
self-respecting living thing would want to be involved with
(except of course the people at the festival). After the
travelers to this flashy event arrive, they emerge from their
tents like fuzzy painted butterflies sporting ocean blue booties,
neon gold red fuzzy caps and even pink faux fur mini-skirts.
Exotic Burning Man glamour aside, it goes
without saying that a nice fur collar on a long coat can really
flatter your face and express your style; It can add flair to an
entire outfit. My faux fur coat collar has lasted for three years
and looks just like plum dyed chinchilla. It's furry, fabulous and
deliciously fake!
