“Genuine Rolex products are sold through official Rolex Jewelers and are not available on the Internet,” runs the opening cautionary line on the Official Rolex Website

But you wouldn’t think that would be the case if you were looking for a Rolex watch on the Internet. As you might have guessed, you can find plenty of watches that are being presented as genuine, but – don’t be fooled – many of them are really fake Rolex watch look-alikes.

Some Ads are Legitimate – They Tell You They’re Fake.

To find out just how widespread the fake Rolex watch scam might be, do a quick Google search, containing the key phrase, “Fake Rolex Watch.” You’ll come up with more than 16,700 sites that present information on Rolex replicas. Some will tell you right up front that they’re selling used Rolexes – nothing wrong with that – but they’re not the ones you need to worry about. It’s the ones who are attempting to pawn off their fake merchandise as the genuine product that everyone needs to guard against.
