Dell Inspiron 7000
by Patrick Austin |
I’m going to continue my review of the Dell Inspiron series by taking a look at the Dell Inspiron 7000. This series of laptops has been highly successful and has developed a reputation for providing some of the fastest speeds for any laptop on the market. The Inspiron 7000 follows in this proud tradition. It comes fully loaded with all of the usual Inspiron features--large hard drive, graphics card, fifteen-inch screen, etc. So if you’ve purchased previous Inspiron’s you won’t be disappointed in the 7000.
Weighing in at nearly ten pounds, the Dell Inspiron 7000 might fall under the category of home PC replacement, rather than ultra-mobile laptop. It’s perfect for a part-time commuter who only needs to move his or her laptop from home to office. It’s not, however, a great laptop for someone who likes to take their personal PC to a Starbucks or carry it around to show off to friends. The Inspiron 7000 is for people who take their laptops seriously.
Probably the most important/best feature to the Dell Inspiron 7000 is it’s large display screen. It’s a full fifteen-inch matrix display, which actually has the same viewing size as most seventeen-inch displays. This is especially important if you use the Dell Inspiron 7000 for work. You’ll probably be sitting in front of the laptop for many hours, so it’s wise to get a laptop with a high quality display screen. And if you're looking to impress a client or colleague with a Power Point presentation, the Inspiron 7000 is just what you’ve been looking for.
The size of the Dell Inspiron 7000 allows for large palm rests and a large touchpad, which add comfort while typing. It’s not a very eye-popping laptop. You shouldn’t buy the 7000 if you’re looking for style. This laptop is for people seeking substance and quality performance over flashy design and slim casing.
The Dell Inspiron 7000 comes with an online customer support system. This is a great help for beginners (and it's pre-installed, so you’ll have assistance right out the box). Dell has a reputation for providing excellent support to their customers. This is no different with the Inspiron 7000.
The price for a Dell Inspiron 7000 is roughly three thousand-five hundred dollars. The price tag is rather high, but as stated before, this is a laptop for serious users who need high speed connectivity and a long operating time. If you have the financial wherewithal, then you should definitely consider purchasing a Dell Inspiron 7000.
