I use DellComputers proudly. In fact, not too long ago, I harangued (that means yelled at, or "called out") a good friend of mine for even thinking about buying an apple instead of one of the DellComputers.
So, it's very disturbing to me that this great corporation has decided to remove the space from their name. What was wrong with "Dell Computers"? Why be prejudiced against the poor space? Why be such a spacist? |
This ignorant kind of spacism is all too common. But what do you expect in a growing, perhaps overpopulated world? There just isn't a time or a place to pause between words. I suppose, in a way, it's kind of like environmentalism- DellComputers may be seen as a throwback for their spacist move, but I happen to think that they're just continuing their cutting edge work.
One of the reasons I'm so pro-Dell is that I think they've really understood the new cyber paradigm. They have no stores, and really even their computer systems are just idea- you order the computer, then DellComputers makes it for you. It doesn't exist until you order it. Why have a bricks and mortar store? Just because everyone else does? But why not get rid of the overhead and be able to offer quality computers for less money? That's DellComputers taking advantage of the power of the internet.
Too few people and businesses understand the internet like DellComputers does. Everyone seems to be stuck in a 1980's paradigm- brick and mortar stores, 3 network news channels... even Fox News, with their neo-fairness, is still old-world. It's the new journalists like Matt Drudge and, dareIsay, our Pulse MEDIA crew, that are cutting edge, new paradigm, next level, e-special.
So anyway, I've bought two computers from DellComputers- three actually, counting the one we have at the clinic- and the flatscreen monitors are very nice. I'm going to be looking at laptops in the near future, even though I prefer the clunky but fix-it-yourself-able nature of the desktop computer, if I'm going to be online most of the day, I don't want to be stuck at home doing it... so you can bet I'll be on the DellComputers website in January, shopping around!
