Whether you like Ashlee Simpson or not she certainly has become a phenomenon over the last year or so. There are quite a few web sites our there that that either praise her work, or absolutely hate her and all the controversy that came about in the last few years.

At the National Championship game for college football, Ashlee Simpson was actually booed after her halftime performance. She received a lot of negative press for that incident. Was it justified, maybe a little? Was it fair, well that’s up for debate.

Ashlee Simpson was born in Dallas, Texas in 1984. Ashlee Simpson started dancing at the age of 4. By eleven she enjoyed the status of being admitted to the American School of Ballet, the youngest person ever to do so. By the age of fourteen, Ashlee Simpson was on the road with her older sister, Jessica Simpson.

Prior to her own current fame, Ashlee Simpson spent three years on tour supporting her sister Jessica, and gaining support for her own work. There are over fifty websites devoted to her.

In 2002, Ashlee Simpson appeared in the movie The Hot Chick alongside Rob Schneider. She also appeared numerous times on television on “Malcolm in the Middle”, “Saved by the Bell: The New Class”, The Rosie O’Donnell Show”, “The View”, and “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno”. She also appeared on a Disney Christmas show and concert special. In July of 2004, Ashlee Simpson released her first CD entitled Autobiography. It hit platinum it’s first week in July of 2004.

Ashlee Simpson has been hard at work gathering donations from famous people to benefit UNICEF’s tsunami relief efforts. By teaming up with TEEN PEOPLE magazine to create an auction, she’s managed to raise monies and awareness for the relief effort by selling Jessica Simpson’s Louis Vuitton shoes and an autographed foosball table from Ashlee Simpson’s recreation room.
